The most egregious example of racism in Enid Blyton's work is The Little Black Doll. It is about a black doll hated by its owner and all
the other dolls. The doll runs away from the house and the rain washes
its face to a pink colour. After this, the other toys and owner welcome
the doll back.
Teachers were accused of being "politically correct" for objecting to this. Apologists said that it was "of its time". Do not swallow this jollop. I was born in 1951 and there were black and white anti-racists in those far-off days too!.
